Yes, you heard me right. Boring old emulation software that is being used by virtually every mainframe customer and have been used by them for 30 or more years. Microfocus has recently gobbled up a significant % of the emulator market, now owning Attachmate’s Extra!, Attachmate’s Reflection and Rumba. Many customers are experiencing significant annual renewal price increases. Replacing these solutions with IBM’s HACP can alleviate that pain. And it is not just about replacement. It is about consolidation and simplification. There are over 20 other products in this space and many customers have a mishmash of emulator products. My partner owns the development and support for IBM’s HACP and has built a practice around the migration from any mainframe emulator to HACP.
